community college students across California.
HackCC is California's statewide hackathon created for community college students, providing a platform to explore new technologies, build innovative projects, and colloborate with peers.
Unlike university hackathons, HackCC bridges the gap for 250 students who often lack access to these opportunities, fostering an inclusive, hands-on environment where creativity and technology solve real-world problems.
Applications are now open for all California community college students! If you're looking to take advantage of an exciting opportunity, be sure to submit your application between March 22nd and April 18th. This is the official application period, Don’t wait until the last minute—start and complete your application as soon as possible to avoid missing out!
A Hackathon is an event where developers, designers, and tons of other tech interested people can come together to build projects within a short timeframe (36 hours at HackCC), to discover new opportunities and win awesome prizes.
Participants can form teams of up to 4 members. There will be a team formation event at the beginning of HackCC to ensure you find a team that works for you. We encourage you to reach out and make new connections all through out the event!
Attending HackCC is an incredible opportunity, and the best part is, it comes at absolutely no cost to you! It is completely free to both apply to and attend HackCC. This means you can focus on what really matters: gaining hands-on experience, collaborating with like-minded peers, and expanding your knowledge in a fun, innovative environment
HackCC starts off with an exciting opening ceremony commencing the beginning of many fun workshops and activities throughout the day! Along with fun activities, Lunch and dinner will be served as well as some snacks to keep the energy high throughout the day!
Keeping the energy high through the night for those that continue. You can expect the next day to be full of activities again along with breakfast and lunch before the judging period begins and HackCC 2025 closing ceremony!
As a hackathon specifically centered around community college students, I thought it was awesome to see so many students who were just like me. Everyone came up with different and unique ideas and mentors cared about making sure we felt confident and engaged.
